This undated blackware pottery pitcher was made in the 1970s by Elizabeth Bigmeat Jackson (1919-2008) and is signed "Jackson". Elizabeth Bigmeat was raised on Wrights Creek in the Painttown community of Cherokee, North Carolina. A member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, she was a third-generation potter.
